Local Rally

Category: Cars, General, Sports |

I’m posting the pictures I took last Sunday at Shoprite. The start for the 3rd stage of the local rally was given there. It was the first time that I attended such an event, I usually never remembered to make it in time at the venues in the past :P. So.. here goesssssss!

Pixxies!

I *LOVE* the following shot, am even using it as my current desktop wallpaper :)

That’s it for now, I’ll post more of the rally pics later. There are lots more :P

One of my friends participated in the rally. His participating car was a little mini. Sadly, I can’t seem to find it in the pictures you posted above. Oh well.

The fastest car I’ve ever travel in remains undoubtedly the Subaru Impreza Turbo GTI. My friend has a black one with a silver ‘S’ (a la Superman font) stuck on the car front.

kyle : laisse li toi kuzin, va dir Pongo 1 site loto sa :P li pou manze mem li! LOL - mini la pou vini :P pa pere toi

aadil : the pics of the mini will come :P be patient, I shot almost a 100 pics that day. I know which Subaru you’re talking about, I’ve seen it a couple of time, pretty sweet ride, it’s a Sub STI btw :P not GTI.

Now that you mention it, I do suppose it’s an STI and not GTI. I lack some knowledge about such cars. But damn, that Subaru is a f**king sweet ride indeed. While travelling in it each time, I’ve NEVER seen any car who succeeded in keeping on our tail or overtaking us on the mortoway. Hehe.

You need strong stomach too to ride in the front seat but it’s one of those life experiences I wouldn’t want to trade.

    (^^)b

STI or GTI, it’s basically the same thing in the end, it only involves making a difference between a basic stock car and a factory-modified sports one, the ’sport-series’ name are only a way of identification for each major brand:

    STI for Subaru
    GTI for VolksWagen
    TRD for Toyota
M for BMW and the list goes on… and on.. :P
damn.. I would love to have that feeling :D –> driving knowing that no one can overtake me :P *sighs*

It’s a mixture of feeling nauseous, a high rush of adrenaline and strangely quiet (in my case). That’s why I wouldn’t want to trade it for (almost) anything else.

I have another friend who has an Opel Astra, not modified - although he did push it to the limits on the motorway when we used to ride. He enjoyed playing classical music (mostly Schubert if I remember correctly) when he was speeding like a road demon. It was a highly enjoyable experience too.

Yeah, I have crazy friends. But they do drive carefully and respect the speed limits, mind you. Well most of the time… (^^)b

i’ve never felt nauseous while driving at high speeds, i guess it’s only the passengers that feel that :P but for sure the adrenaline rush is PURE ecstasy :D.

I enjoy trance at low volume while driving all out, i’ve only managed to push my stock Peugeot 306 to 185 Km/h on the motorway on the way to dropping a friend off to the airport (A). That felt G.R.E.A.T.

I wouldn’t mind meeting some of those friends of yours :). I drive carefully too. *nods*. Sometimes .

Well, I meet them from time to time myself. Dunno when will be the next time though. As an anecdote I once did around 110 in the Suburu on a roundabout. (^^)

Later, one of my friends who rode in the Subaru told me he did around 150Km/h on a roundabout with the same driver friend.

I have only 2 friends with cool cars, the Subaru one and the Open Astra one. Havent seen the Astra one in a long time.

    110 on a roundabout? :| :|
That’s got to be something :P am still far from this one, only managed to get till 80 for a roundabout, not going to get past that in the near future either.

150 sounds INSANE! I wonder if that is even possible o.O may be it would have been ‘driftin’ around it rather that drivin around.

  10. aadil on August 30, 2006 11:28 am

Drifting around? I don’t think so since the Subaru gets four new tires each 4 months or so.

Ok, enough pass du beurre… ;D

  11. LaSh on August 30, 2006 8:25 pm

ummm…. I might start a new business for myself in supplying him with new tires $.$. *rubs hands*

    lol.
